The mission of Foundations for Change is to provide child, adolescent, and family psychiatric treatment using a holistic and integrated approach. The goal is to assess each patient, consider all of the contributing factors to their disorder, make important short-term and long-term treatment recommendations and provided uncompromising and coordinated care to patients ages two through adulthood.
As a psychiatric nurse practitioner who is double board certified as a Family Psychiatric-Mental Nurse Practitioner and Child and Adolescent Psychiatric-Mental Health Clinical Nurse Specialist, Jeff Edelman provides the highest quality of uninterrupted care to children, adolescents, adults, military and first responders and their family.
In addition to Jeff's concentrated educational background, which includes a Master's of Science in Nursing from Yale University, his 15 years in public, private and military settings have afforded him experience treating OCD, eating disorders, PTSD, ADHD, bipolar disorder, anxiety and depression in children and adults.
As an Army veteran with two combat deployments over 10 years of service, Jeff has extensive training and experience in Combat Environments, including Crisis Management, Assessment, and Treatment of Post-Traumatic Disorders within a military context. He also has a heart for military families, particularly the children in the home, who may need support due to the service commitment of their parents.
Jeff also specializes in treating first responders, training with police and fire departments, providing crisis management and assessing and treating PTSD within the first responder context.
Along with traditional psychiatric treatment, Jeff specializes in Ketamine Therapy, a treatment that offers new hope to those who have had little or no relief to their suffering. Ketamine has been approved for use as an anesthetic but now is safe to use in a controlled, medical practice by a trained practitioner, for the treatment of depression, anxiety, PTSD, OCD, Eating Disorders and other psychiatric disorders. Foundations for Change patients have experienced significant improvement with Ketamine infusions, often providing the breakthrough other treatment haven't achieved.
Foundations for Change seeks to treat the whole individual and the whole family in a safe environment. His staff includes Melvin and Sophie - trained therapy dogs who welcome everyone they meet and go wherever Jeff goes, Molly Harris who is a Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner that sees adults and also uses ketamine for the treatment of psychiatric disorders, Marie who is the clinic's RN, and Christina who is a fully Licensed therapist. These providers along with the support staff in Jeff's practice, all have the same goal in mind, "providing uncompromising care, compassionate and kind interaction" with those who entrust their care to his team at Foundations For Change, PLC.
