Experience Williams- Gateway to the Grand Canyon® and Christmas!

Williams, Arizona is known as the Gateway to the Grand Canyon®, but at this time of the year, it transforms into so much more. Williams becomes the Gateway to the Grand Canyon® and Christmas!

Founded in 1881 and known for historic charm, long lasting heritage of the Old West, nostalgic Route 66, and new adventures- Williams is a destination for all ages. From cruising Route 66, planning a visit to the Grand Canyon, riding the rails, getting up close to the wildlife at a drive-thru wildlife park, hitting the trails with some outdoor recreation, or shopping for that perfect souvenir- Williams, Arizona is the place to do it. During the holidays, it's even more magical.

The holiday season kicks off with the Polar Express ride by the Grand Canyon Railway November 8-January 4. Every winter the Polar Express comes to life on a journey from the nighttime wilderness in Williams, to the enchanted beauty of the "North Pole" where Santa and his reindeer are waiting with a silver bell for every child onboard the train. Faces will light up with a grin from ear to ear as they listen to the Polar Express story being told, Christmas carols being sung, and sipping hot chocolate with a perfect chocolate chip cookie during the journey.

This magical holiday experience is sure to become a family tradition for years to come. The ride lasts a little over an hour and the train leaves each evening at 5:30pm and 7:30pm. For full details, reservations and more information, please visit

The magic doesn't end with the Polar Express ride. On Saturday November 30, at 6:30pm, the Annual Christmas Light Parade will take place on historic Route 66. This year's theme, Christmas Memories, will reflect on traditions, history, and the magic of the occasion. Visitors will receive a complimentary Santa hat and a visit by the jolly man himself as the Christmas tree on Route 66 is lit after the parade. This festive occasion will include a Christmas character costume and trivia contests as the evening of holly jolly celebration continues.

During the month of December, every Friday-Sunday, Bearizona Drive-Thru Wildlife Park will come to life with Wild Wonderland. Visitors will want to plan a full weekend with this nighttime magical event. With nearly half a million Christmas lights on at the Park, it transforms into a magical Wild Wonderland. Visitors will enjoy story time with Mrs. Claus, watch animals open presents, make arts & crafts, celebrate with special Christmas libations and holiday treats. Visit every Friday-Sunday in December from 6:00pm-9:00pm. A full schedule and details can be found at
