Multiple sclerosis (MS) is an unpredictable, often disabling disease of the central nervous system that disrupts the flow of information within the brain, and between the brain and body. According to the National Multiple Sclerosis Society the cause of MS is still unknown - scientists believe the disease is triggered by an as-yet-unidentified environmental factor in a person who is genetically predisposed to respond.

The progress, severity and specific symptoms of MS in any one person cannot yet be predicted. Most people with MS are diagnosed between the ages of 20 and 50, with at least two to three times more women than men being diagnosed with the disease.

The Arizona chapter of the National Multiple Sclerosis Society provides programs and services for more than 8,000 people affected by MS in Arizona.

Nearly 75% of all people diagnosed with MS are women. Women Against MS (WAMS) is a nationwide education fundraising campaign that creates an inspiring and powerful, motivational environment. Join us as we gather to learn more about MS and the women it impacts as we celebrate the strength and grace of women with MS. As you enjoy a fine lunch at the gorgeous Arizona Biltmore Resort and Spa, you will also have the opportunity to purchase exquisite cakes from local bakeries and browse our silent auction.
