Dr. Maureen Toal completed her undergraduate studies at St. Louis University. She attended Washington University Dental School in St. Louis, completed a General Practice Residency at John Cochran VA Medical Center and Reavis Barracks CA. A four-year preceptorship in General Anesthesia with Board Certified Anesthesiologists at Lutheran Medical Center and started in private practice with her father in St. Lois, providing hospital care dentistry.
In 1990, Dr Toal moved to Arizona, set up a one of a kind operating room in her dental facility which allowed her to utilize all forms of anesthesia, oral sedation, iv sedation and general anesthesia. Dr Toal has the unique ability to treat her patients in a hospital setting and has had hospital privileges at numerous hospitals in the greater phoenix area.
There is a large population who cannot sit in the regular dental setting for routine dental procedures. This population is growing and these patients are not able to obtain predictable, quality dental care. There are over 40 million people in the country who are dental phobic. We categorize these patients as having severe situational anxiety (SSA). This patient population had gone unattended.
Dr Toal's mission is to empower Dentists to treat the oral cavity as one organ system and to provide a comprehensive treatment plan to meet the needs of a large population of patients ranging from Pediatrics to Geriatrics, regardless of their medical condition using all forms of Anesthesia in a safe, predictable, stress free manner. This can include patients with special needs, compromising health conditions, phobias, Autism, Dementia, and patients that are non-communicative or non-cooperative and many more.'
