Sheriff Joe Arpaio makes headlines on Colbert Report (VIDEO)

Maricopa County Sheriff Joe Arpaio continues to make national headlines with his posse-training partner, actor Steven Seagal.

In the latest story, the duo has appeared as part of a story on Comedy Central's "The Colbert Report."

Colbert spent nearly five minutes of his show talking about Arpaio's weekend drill to train posse members to fight back against ‘gunmen' who have barged into a Phoenix elementary school.

Colbert showed footage of the training from an ABC15 report by Steve Kuzj and commented, "filling our schools with gun-toting guys who have nowhere to be during work hours might give some parents pause, but rest assured mom and dad, these volunteer posses are getting top notch training.

He was talking, of course, about actor Seagal, who led the training exercise.

"We know Hollywood violence is real the problem, therefore it is also the solution," Colbert quipped.

Colbert went on to talk about posse members who've had brushes with the law, saying that an armed posse could be trained to protect the students from those posse members.
