Attention Rick and Morty fans, Szechuan Sauce is making a limited (we mean, limited) return to McDonald's locations across the country.
In fact, according to the fast-food chain, 200 locations nationwide will have the sauce. In Arizona, four will have 20 packets of it. (Yes, you read that correct -- 20 packets. That's it).

The Arizona restaurants that will have the sauce are:
- 1205 S. Rural Road, Tempe AZ 85251
- 1785 E. University Drive, Tempe AZ 85281
- 1401 S. Milton, Flagstaff AZ 86001
- 1711 E. Speedway, Tucson AZ 85719
They will be available starting at 2 p.m. on Saturday, Oct. 7. To get one, you have to order the buttermilk chicken tenders. Again, these locations will have 20 packets and that's it.
We also read the fine print: you have to order inside the restaurant, not the drive-thru.
Anyone scratching his or her head, perhaps wondering what the heck this is all about? We'll assist.
Essentially it's a promotion for McDonald's new buttermilk chicken tenders. Though, Szechuan Sauce (a Teriyaki sauce) was reportedly a real condiment available at McDonald's in the 1990s to help promote the release of Disney's animated movie, Mulan.
The creators of Rick and Morty then incorporated the Szechuan sauce into their season 3 premiere episode, The Rickshank Rickdemption. That evolved into a fan-driven mission to get McDonald's to bring the sauce back.
