Flagstaff has canceled its Fourth of July fireworks display because of the high risk of fire danger and lack of monsoon rain.

The area is currently under stage 3 fire restrictions which prevent the sale or use of consumer-grade fireworks, the city said in a news release.

The city has partnered with The Oakmont and Continental Country Club to host its fourth "Lights on the Lawn"event on July 4, from 3 p.m. - 9 p.m.

That event will include a performance by J Michael Harter and Zona Road, water slides, obstacle course, maze and food and drinks. The event and parking are free.

Last week, the Town of Cave Creek denied a permit to light fireworks for Harold's Corral's annual display due to the dry conditions. Instead, Harold's has planned a party with glow sticks, a build-your-own hot dog bar, and karaoke.

In the Valley, more than a dozen firework displays are still planned for Phoenix, Tempe, Mesa, Chandler and Scottsdale.

The Phoenix Fire Department has a list of what fireworks are legal in Phoenix or not legal posted on their website. You can see that list HERE
