If you've driven down Scottsdale Road the last few days, you've likely seen a chunk of lighted structures along the canal near the Scottsdale Waterfront.

Watch the video in the player above for a first look.

It is part of Scottsdale's Canal Convergence, a free 10-day art showcase that features works from artists across the country. It began on Friday, Nov. 9 and runs through Sunday, Nov. 18.

In the past, the event has been held in the spring. However, this year it was moved to November and expanded from two weekends to a 10-day stretch.

Ten immersive and interactive art installations have been set up along the canal walkway, including "Re-cyclone," a 20-foot tall structure made of 5,000 water bottles that looks like a tornado, and "Arizona!", a 600-foot-long lace ribbon that was hand-croqueted by more than 100 people.

Within the canal are a dozen aluminum sculptures shaped like a Lotus flower. You may recognize them from the one-and-done Lost Lake music festival.

They're produced by Walter Productions, an Arizona-based company.

Colored LED lights illuminate them at night, which guests can change and control using a console. At certain times of the night, 30-foot flames will show from the centers choreographed to music.

Dance performances, poetry, spoken word and local bands will perform throughout the event. View schedule.

An information booth opens each day at 2 p.m. There is no cost to walk around and see the artworks and free parking within walking distance is available at an above-ground and underground parking garage.
