The Recycle Your Bicycle program wants to make sure Valley foster children have a Christmas to remember, and you can help make that dream a reality.
By donating your used bike, money, or even just your time, you can make a real difference for foster families, families just like Sharicka and Donna's.
They opened up their home to two foster girls who captured their hearts. But, the girls were living apart from their brothers. Sharicka and Donna didn't think that was right, so soon their family of four was a family of six.
Their first Christmas together, the family needed a little help.
They found it thanks to the people at Recycle Your Bicycle. The program takes donated used bikes, fixes them up like new, and gives them, free of charge, to foster children around the Valley.
"It was huge," says Donna, "Because that meant we could focus on other things for the kids. We could get them more clothes that they needed."
You can be a huge help too. If you have an old bike laying around collecting dust, the folks at Recycle Your Bicycle could use it. All you have to do is bring it down to any one of 21 Earnhardt Auto Centers around the Valley.
If you don't have a bike, you can also donate money to help pay for tools and spare parts to fix the bikes up.
And, if you're mechanically inclined, you can donate your time helping fix up the bikes.
