PHOENIX - Another day of rain in the Phoenix area is providing some relief to the recent hot temperatures, but authorities are urging travelers to be careful.
The Valley hasn't seen low temperatures in the low 70s since May.
Widespread rain was reported over the Valley on Sunday morning, leading to a string of traffic crashes on water-logged streets.
The National Weather Service has issued a flash flood watch for Maricopa County as well as other parts of central and northern Arizona through Sunday evening.
Forecasters say ample monsoon moisture is expected to lead to more showers and thunderstorm activity in central Arizona through Tuesday. They say more heavy rainfall and some flooding is possible, but high temperatures are expected to stay well below normal.
