PHOENIX - Authorities are advising motorists in Arizona to use caution as a storm system and associated cold front produces high winds across much of the state on Monday.
A wind advisory by the National Weather Service advises motorists that the high winds could cause dangerous cross winds as well as reduced visibility due to blowing dust and sand.
According to the weather service, winds may gust over 60 mph in parts of northern Arizona, including the Little Colorado River Valley.
The Department of Transportation says strong winds are expected on Interstate 10 between Phoenix and Casa Grande and between Tucson and the New Mexico line. High winds also are expected on Interstate 8 in southern Arizona and Interstate 40 in northern Arizona.
Motorists are advised against driving into dust storms.
