My name is Rachel Buettner and I am forming a non-profit charitable foundation to help support child abuse centers and families of abuse. The idea of this foundation began when my nephew, Easton Lee, was brutally taken from us in March ’08. He was only eight months old when he passed away from being severally abused by his babysitters. Not only was this a horrible tragedy to have happened, but it was an unnecessary occurrence. I would like to take part in helping educate people on how to choose the proper and safe care for their children, as well as educate parents on stress management to help cut back on child abuse.
I am looking for sponsors to help with this event, which will take place on November 7, 2009, in order to make it as successful as it can possibly be. Anything that you can donate to help with this event would be greatly appreciated. I am in need of tables, chairs, tents, pins, t-shirts, and cash donations. However, I will take whatever you may be able to donate. All the proceeds from this event are going to be donated to a child abuse center in Mesa that is in desperate need of financial help.
This event is a motorcylce poker run, which will begin at Mo's on the Green (formerly known as Benchwarmers on Power and Broadway) and end at Chuy's in Mesa (on Gilbert and McKellips). The route for the run will be given at registration which will take place between 9 a.m. and 11 a.m. at Mo's.
I would greatly appreciate if you could place this event on your community calendar. If you could provide any additional coverage of this event to help make it successful, whether announcing it on air or coming to the event itself, it would mean an immense amount to the friends and family of Easton.
I thank you for your time and consideration in donating to this amazing cause. It is very sad that this tragedy had to happen, but with your help, I would like to make the very best I can out of the situation and hope that together we can prevent another death from happening.
For any questions, please feel free to call me or stop by Chuy’s on Gilbert & McKellips.
Thank you again-

Dear Friends and Family:
Most of you are aware of the horrible tragedy that happened to Easton in March 2008. For those of you who are not, Easton was an 8-month-old baby who was taken from this world by the hand of his caretakers. These were people who had promised to take the best possible care of him and who had promised his mother and father to give him their love and protection while mom and dad were gone. This type of tragedy is one that should never happen, not to children, not to parents, and not to all those who loved Easton. Our hope, with this bike run, is to help other families of child abuse and to help prevent any other person from feeling the pain that we all felt with the loss of Easton. We are aware that we can’t stop all of it, but if we can help just one parent not feel the sadness and pain that Heather and Robert have had to endure, then we will have been successful.
With the help of some amazing people, I am putting together Easton's 2nd Annual Charity Bike Run on November 7, 2009. The run will start at Mo’s on the Green on Power and Broadway in Mesa and will end at Chuys Mesquite Broiler on Gilbert and McKellips in Mesa with live bands, tasty food, and great people! We are fencing off the Chuys parking lot, putting the bands outside, and raffling off some great prizes. We would love to see you, your family and friends at the event! Even if you don’t ride, you are more than welcome to come to the end event at Chuys, which will start around 3pm.
We need your help with donations of any kind to make this event as successful as it can possibly be. We’ll gladly accept cash, gift certificates, raffle items, etc. All donations are tax deductible. This is 100% non-profit and all proceeds will be donated in Easton’s name to local child abuse centers in need of financial help.
We look forward to working with all of you and making this event HUGE!! The more money we raise the more money child abuse centers will receive. This child will not be forgotten and with your help, his name will go on.
Thank you so much!
