Drivers won't see any major freeway closures or restrictions this weekend, but there are some ramp and surface street closures to be aware of.
The APS Electric Light Parade will also close down streets in central Phoenix on Saturday, December 3, so drivers need to find other routes.
ADOT weekend closures:
Southbound Interstate 17 on-ramp at Daisy Mountain Drive (Anthem area) closed from 5 a.m. to 5 p.m. Saturday (Dec. 3) for pavement improvements. DETOUR: Consider using southbound Gavilan Peak Parkway to westbound Pioneer Road to access southbound I-17. Southbound on-ramp at Anthem Way will be open.
Eastbound Glendale Avenue closed at I-17 from 9 p.m. Friday to 5 a.m. Monday (Dec. 5) for city of Phoenix pavement work. Turns from eastbound Glendale Avenue to I-17 will be limited over the weekend. DETOUR: Consider using eastbound Bethany Home Road or Northern Avenue as alternate routes.
APS Electric Light Parade Road Closures:
The following street will be restricted (as indicated below) at 6 a.m. on Saturday, December 3 to stage for this event:
- Central Avenue – Camelback Road to Bethany Home Rd. (one southbound and one northbound)
The following streets will be restricted (as indicated below) at 3 p.m. on Saturday, December 3 to stage for this event:

Camelback Road – Central Avenue to Seventh Street (two westbound and one eastbound)

Central Avenue – Camelback Road to Bethany Home Rd. (one southbound and one northbound)

Seventh Street – Camelback to Indian School roads (two northbound and one southbound)
The following streets will be closed at 5 p.m. on Saturday, December 3 for the parade:

The following street will be closed at 7 p.m. on Saturday, December 3 for the parade:

Indian School Road – Central Avenue to 12th Street
All major streets, local streets, and driveways will be closed as the parade approaches and reopened as it proceeds, except for Central Avenue from Camelback to Bethany Home roads.
Local traffic will be maintained.
Police officers will be on-site to assist with traffic control and business access.
