A New England Patriot's wife apologized for a Facebook post she made about Baltimore Raven Ray Lewis, following the Patriots' loss Sunday, according to The Los Angeles Times.
The Tuesday report said Wes Welker's wife, Anna Burns Welker, initially posted the following:
"Proud of my husband and the Pats. By the way, if anyone is bored, please go to Ray Lewis' Wikipedia page. 6 kids 4 wives. Acquitted for murder. Paid a family off. Yay. What a hall of fame player! A true role model!"
She has since written a statement to apologize for the post.
"I'm deeply sorry for my recent post on Facebook," she wrote, according to latimes.com. "I let the competitiveness of the game and the comments people were making about a team I dearly love get the best of me."
The Ravens beat the Patriots 28-13 Sunday in the AFC Championship, sending the Ravens to the Super Bowl.
