Subway Fresh Fit 500: What to watch for at Phoenix International Raceway

AVONDALE, AZ - There may not be the same hype entering Sunday's Subway Fresh Fit 500 as there was last weekend with Danica Patrick having the fastest qualifying time for the Daytona 500, but the annual race at Phoenix International Raceway still has plenty to look forward to.

The last time the Sprint Cup came to Phoenix, Jeff Gordon and Clint Bowyer got into a post-race scrum that made national headlines.

Though both drivers say the incident is behind them, everyone is waiting to see if the mile-long tri-oval can bring out the worst in each driver once again.

Then you have the seemingly ageless Mark Martin, who took the pole with a great run in qualifying on Friday.

Martin's age (54) almost matches his car number (55), making him the second-oldest driver to win a pole in Sprint Cup history.

Martin also had the fastest qualifying time last year at this event, finishing third.

The race begins Sunday afternoon at 1 p.m. on FOX with defending champion, Denny Hamlin, starting from the seventh position. Patrick will start 40th.
