Phoenix Suns' Channing Frye out 'indefinitely' after developing enlarged heart

PHOENIX - The Phoenix Suns' Channing Frye has been sidelined "indefinitely" after being diagnosed with an enlarged heart.

According to the Phoenix Suns website , the star forward's condition was discovered during a screening conducted as part of a routine preseason physical by the team cardiologist.

"Nothing is more important to us than the health and well-being of our players," said Suns President of Basketball Operations Lon Babby. "Channing and his family have the full support of our organization. His health is our primary concern and we are committed to helping him in any way he needs."

The Suns say Frye will be followed closely by a team of medical specialists and will not participate in basketball activities for the next few months. He will reportedly be re-evaluated in December.

Frye has become one of the team's most recognizable players, well-known as "one of the best-shooting big men in the game."

Following the Thursday announcement, he tweeted , "Thanks everyone for your support. I will be ok. It will pass and ill be back we have the best staff in the NBA helping me out."

Send your well wishes to Frye.
