PHOENIX - Suns fans knew the days of Steve Nash playing in Phoenix were probably over, but they were not expecting Nash to be teaming-up with Kobe Bryant and the Los Angeles Lakers this fall.
ABC15 spoke with fans outside the U.S. Airways Center who were shocked by the news and even hurt by Nash's decision to leave the Valley for the Suns' long-time rival.
But if the veteran point guard is chasing a championship ring, fans agree he has a much better shot at getting it with the Lakers.
So while they say it's not going to be easy seeing Nash in his new uniform, they do want to see him happy.
"It kind of hurts a little because we're going to see him here, obviously in a Lakers' jersey. That's going to hurt, but at the same time you have to wish him all the best," says Suns fan Mathew Coronado.
Some fans also say they feel a sense of relief. Now they can move on and start looking forward to a new season with some new, fresh talent to lead the team.
