If you live in Arizona, and you're a fan of the Cardinals, you're probably excited and hopeful about the upcoming season. As for former Cardinals quarterback Kurt Warner, he sees two sides to this Cardinals team. One from the fan's perspective, the other from an outsider's point of view.
"The people that don't watch them on an everyday basis, I think there's a little bit of a mystery," said Warner. "People are looking at them for the last few years and they've got Seattle, they've got San Francisco, and we don't really think of anybody else out west. But for people that have watched them a little more closely, there's an excitement level."
Warner believes fans are excited and encouraged by the changes made during the off-season. A new head coach, a new coaching staff, a new quarterback, and the list goes on from there.
"I think it's one of those things, the closer you are them, the more excitement you have, the farther away, you're not really giving them much credit," said Warner. "But the biggest thing to me is the offensive line. Unfortunately the injury to Jonathan Cooper sets them back a little bit so it's gonna be interesting. Pre-season, there's some ups and downs. You're never quite sure what you're gonna see in the regular season. And I think it's all dependent on the offensive line. If the offensive line can play well early, then I think this team has a chance to come out of the blocks quickly. If it takes a while for those guys to mesh with some new pieces... it could take a little bit longer and maybe they hit their stride closer to the middle of the season."
