This week's Friday Night Blitz on ABC15 moves to two nights (Thursday and Friday) due to Yom Kippur. A number of local school districts have moved games to Thursday night to honor the Jewish holiday.
Stay updated on all the Valley's high school sports action with Friday Night Blitz, airing every Friday night this fall on ABC15 News at 10 p.m.
We start our Thursday night coverage with our Game of the Week, in a Division II vs. Division I matchup, the 1-1 Centennial Coyotes are at the 1-1 Brophy Prep Broncos.
Both teams are perennial state powerhouse football programs and both will look to this game as a litmus test for where they stand this season.
Our other games feature a number of outstanding football programs from across the Valley: also in Division I, the 1-1 Desert Ridge Jaguars at the 1-1 Sandra Day O'Connor Eagles.
A Division III matchup between the 0-2 Agua Fria Owls at the 2-0 Greenway Demons which figures to be a solid game between two teams looking from some respect. In Division II, the 0-2 Camelback Spartans travel to the 2-0 Arcadia Titans to see if Camelback can finally end up with a win.
Coming off a close loss to Marcos de Niza last week, the 1-1 Chaparral Firebirds host a Division I team in the 1-1 Mountain Ridge Mountain Lions, while a longtime rivalry brews in the East Valley between the 2-0 Mesa Westwood Warriors and the 1-1 Mesa Jackrabbits. This one should be interesting with Spencer Stowers Warriors looking for their first 3-0 start in a long time.
Air15 will be high above three games tonight, with the Gilbert Tigers taking on the up and coming Campo Verde Coyotes in Gilbert.
The chopper will also fly over the Cesar Chavez at Basha game in Chandler and the Maricopa at Williams Field game in the Higley School District.
Tune in TONIGHT at 10 p.m. for a special edition of Friday Night Blitz.
