Former Louisville Cardinals basketball player Kyle Kuric will join the Phoenix Suns' Summer League squad after undergoing three separate brain surgeries, the Louisville Courier-Journal reported Monday.
Kuric, a 6-foot-4 guard who played four years at Louisville, initially underwent surgery last year to remove a benign tumor from his brain. He later had two operations to reduce swelling in his brain.
In March, Kuric returned to the basketball court for his pro team in Spain, just five months after the first of those three operations.
The 26-year-old averaged 8.3 points and 3.2 rebounds per game and shot 37.7 percent from 3-point range during his four seasons at Louisville from 2008-12. He averaged 12.1 points per game and shot 38.8 percent from beyond the arc for CB Gran Canaria in 2014-15, his last full season as a pro.
The Suns begin Summer League play in Las Vegas on July 9. You can follow Kyle on Twitter here.
