PHOENIX - Starting Friday, the Phoenix Suns will host "Holiday Cards for Troops" at their next five home games to support U.S. military men and women overseas, Public Relations Director Casey Taggatz said.
The team will have a table in the U.S. Airways Center with holiday cards for fans to write letters to military members abroad. Fans can also bring their unsealed card to be delivered by the Suns, Taggatz said, the Suns will also pay for postage.
The campaign started when Arizonan Lynda Wooten sent holiday cards to her son, who was a medic in Iraq, Taggatz said. Now he is home and she is continuing to support troops overseas, with local churches and other organizations.
