Just when we thought it was a done deal, the Phoenix Coyotes sale may not happen after all.
According to ESPN, CEO Greg Jamison, the main suitor of the team, cannot produce the money needed to purchase the team from the NHL.
There is a January 31 deadline to maintain a critical lease agreement with the City of Glendale that will pass with out a deal being completed, reports ESPN.
Back in May, an agreement in principle was announced to sell the team to Jamison, the former San Jose Sharks executive and part-owner.
The NHL has owned the team for almost four years, and if no one is able to buy the Coyotes, the league will begin the process of re-locating the team.
