D-backs prepare for first spring training game of 2014

SCOTTSDALE, AZ - The Arizona Diamondbacks are about to take on the Los Angeles Dodgers in their first spring training game, but before they do there's some changes you need to know about.

Diamondbacks officials said this year they have made some changes out at Salt River Fields.

New food items like a Sonoran BBQ stand, gourmet pizzas, and gluten free Island Noodles have been added to the menu.

Diamondbacks players will continue to sign autographs for fans, but this year the times have been changed.

During day games, players will sign between 11:45 a.m and 12:00 p.m. On days when there is a night game, players will meet fans from 5:45 to 6:00 p.m.

Diamondbacks officials aren't the only ones who have been preparing for Wednesday’s game.

Steve and Caleb Doerksen came out to watch the team practice. Caleb, who plays on a little league team also called the Diamondbacks said he has his glove and autograph book ready to go.

"Paul Goldschmidt and Patrick Corbin are the two players I want to get most. That would be really cool," said Caleb.

Steve Doerksen said he brought his son to spring training as part of a family tradition. "It's a long season. The middle of the season starts to grind but the beginning and the end of the season that's where the real excitement is," said Steve.
