DBacks, ASU take the lead, Michael Phelps swims to victory in Mesa

Sports reporter Craig Fouhy provides a quick recap of sports news this week.

Baseball

The Diamondbacks won their second 5-4 game in a row Friday night against the Phillies at Chase Field. Fans arrived at the game to celebrate Zombie Night at the stadium.

Friday's game opens a three-game series against the Phillies.

Arizona State University took on the University of Arizona team in Tucson, winning the game 2-1.

Swimming

Michael Phelps and Ryan Lochte faced off this week in Mesa.

Phelps finished second to Lochte in the 100-meter butterfly, but won against Lochte Thursday.

Phelps is moving on to North Carolina in May to take on another swim meet after recently emerging from his retirement.

Football

Northwestern football players could become the first unionized school team after medical insurance and expense issues.

Some players are treated unfairly and lose their scholarships based on financial issues.

They believe unionizing, or somehow making a little extra money, will help with the problems they have been facing.
