David Peralta 'celebrates' 1st major league home run

PHOENIX - Two weeks ago, David Peralta was in Double-A Mobile toiling in the Diamondbacks minor leagues.

Over four years ago, Peralta was playing independent league baseball trying to redefine his game as a position player, instead of a pitcher, after multiple shoulder surgeries resulted in his release from the St. Louis Cardinals.

On Sunday, Peralta was telling ABC15 Sports how the D-backs clubhouse decided to “salute” his first career home run in the major leagues. And let’s just say that it makes for a “Welcome to the Bigs” moment in a very unique fashion.

Another way to say it would be that the “D” in D-backs stands for “disgusting.”

Check out what he had to say in the video above.
