ASU vs. Weber State: New tailgating rules go info effect: No kegs, drinking games allowed

TEMPE, AZ - Ahead of Thursday's game between Arizona State University and Weber State, fans should be aware of some changes to tailgating.

Kegs, beer pong, shot gunning, and other activities that involve excessive drinking are no longer permitted in tailgating areas.

The Arizona Board of Regents and Sun Devil Athletics adopted the new rules this summer.

Athletic Director Ray Anderson said, "Tailgating is one of the great traditions of football, but we are encouraging our fans and visitors to act responsibly on game day," in a prepared statement back in July.

Season ticket holders will be allowed to start tailgating five hours prior to kick off, while other lots open 3 1/2 hours before kick off.

Thursday's game against Weber State starts at 7:30 p.m. and will be broadcast on Pac-12 Networks.
