SALT LAKE CITY, UT - Arizona is back in the NCAA tournament after sitting it out two of the last three seasons. The sixth-seeded Wildcats (25-7) will face No. 11 seed Belmont (26-6) in the West Region on Thursday in Salt Lake City.
At 46-28, Arizona has a deep history in the
NCAA tournament, winning the championship in 1997. This is the Wildcats' 29th appearance.
The Bruins of Nashville, Tenn., won the Ohio Valley regular season and conference tournament titles.
They have never won an NCAA tournament game in five previous trips under coach Rick Byrd, but they came close in 2008, losing to Duke 71-70. Last year, they lost to Georgetown 74-59.
