Learn to become more energy efficient while taking in a baseball game as the D-backs host the Los Angeles Dodgers Friday through Sunday in the fourth annual Green series.
A green recycling bag will be handed out to the first 10,000 fans through the doors this Friday. Fans are also encouraged to sign up for the APS Energy All-Star Challenge, where one lucky APS customer will win an exclusive D-backs VIP experience for four. That includes dugout box tickets, watching batting practice on the field, team merchandise and other prizes.
Then on Saturday, the D-backs are hosting a street festival starting at 2 p.m. along 4th Street and Jackson. Music, food trucks (including healthy options like juice and smoothies), D-backs inflatables and more will be present.
After the game, 10,000 compact fluorescent light (CFL) bulbs will be distributed as fans exit the stadium.
Sunday will be highlighted by the Valley Metro Bike to the Ballpark that will be led by Phoenix Mayor Greg Stanton. The ride begins at Steel Indian School Park and will follow a four-mile path to Chase Field. Cyclists will be able to lock their bikes along 4th Street and Jackson and can enjoy the game before biking back to the park. In addition, kids can get their faces painted by the APS Clown Troupe.
During the series, the D-backs will purchase Green Energy from APS to power Chase Field. The total average consumption for all the series will be approximately 786,000 kWh.
Tickets for the APS Green Series are available at the Chase Field Box Office, by phone at 602.514.8400 or
