PHOENIX - After requests from the players, the Arizona Diamondbacks will continue to wear their black "Arizona" jerseys honoring the 19 Prescott firefighters for the remainder of the homestand.
According to a news release, the D-backs also extended the 50 percent discount to military and first responders through July 14.
The jerseys are just one of the many tributes the Diamondbacks have honored the 19 fallen Granite Mountain Hotshot firefighters with.
On Friday, the team held a pre-game ceremony thanking first responders in front of a sold out crowd.
They raised more than $500,000 to benefit the 100 Club of Arizona, American Red Cross, Prescott Firefighters Charities, and others to assist in the rebuilding process.
The Diamondbacks encourage fans to continue donating online . Those who donate $19 or more are entered for a chance to win a team-signed jersey with the name "Yarnell" and No. 19.
