Arizona Cardinas vs. Dallas Cowboys: Injury update, notes on Saturday's game

PHOENIX, AZ - The Arizona Cardinals are coming off a 17-0 shut-out win over the Green Bay Packers August 9 at Lambeau Field.

On Saturday, the Red Birds will host the Dallas Cowboys for the team's first preseason game at University of Phoenix Stadium.

WATCH THE GAME TODAY ONLY ON ABC15. COVERAGE STARTS AT 1 PM, AND THE GAME BEGINS AT 1:30 PM.

Linebacker Karlos Dansby will miss a second straight game but should be back on the practice field on Monday.

Also out for Saturday's game vs. Dallas: Cornerback Javier Arenas, linebacker Dan Giordano, safety Rashad Johnson, defensive tackles Dan Williams and Ricky Lumpkin, defensive end Frostee Rucker, tight ends Jeff King and Kory Sperry, and running back Ryan Williams.

According to Coach Bruce Arians, nothing has changed this week in terms of playing time for the starters. Expect to see the first teamers play about twenty plays, but he doesn't want them to play the entire first half.

The end of the second quarter and the entire second half is for the young guys to "be exposed or get exposed" in the coach's words. The team has to cut to 75 by August 27, and then to 53 by August 31. That doesn't leave much time for rookies and free agents to make an impression. Time is clearly running out for the guys on the "bubble."

The Cardinals will wrap up training camp at University of Phoenix Stadium this next week, with practices on Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday. After the afternoon practice on Thursday, August 22, the Cards will break camp and return to the teams Tempe training facility where the new practice "bubble" is now functional.

Coach Arians says the indoor facility is critical to keeping guys "fresh" throughout the fall heat here in the Valley.
