PHOENIX - The Arizona Cardinals announced Thursday the signing of safety Tyrann Mathieu, the team's third-round selection in the 2013 NFL Draft.
Mathieu has been signed to a four-year contract, team officials said. Terms of the contract were not disclosed, in accordance with club policy.
The former Louisiana State University safety and Heisman Trophy finalist is the sixth member of the Cardinal's nine player draft class to sign with the team.
He joins LSU linebacker Kevin Minter (second round), Stanford running back Stepfan Taylor (fifth round), Texas A&M wide receiver Ryan Swope (sixth round), Clemson running back Andre Ellington (sixth round) and Rutgers tight end D.C. Jefferson (seventh round).
The Cardinals first-round pick, North Carolina offensive guard Jonathan Cooper, has not yet signed with the team.
