SATURDAY 1/18/14

LDS TEMPLE TOURS
The new LDS Gilbert Arizona Temple opens to public tours starting Saturday morning. Reservations are required. The 85,000-square-foot temple with a 195-foot spire will be formally dedicated on March 2.

GLENDALE FIRE PREVENTION
Glendale Fire Department and the Red Cross will cover the Glendale 85301 zip code to raise fire prevention awareness, including smoke detectors, home escape plans, and proper use of heating equipment.

NEW CITIZENS
Two hundred new U.S. citizens from 51 countries will be administered the oath of allegiance Saturday at the Chandler Multicultural Festival. 11 a.m., Main Downtown Library, Chandler.

SUNDAY 1/19/14

ROCK N ROLL MARATHON
More than 24,000 runners will hit the streets for the 11th annual P.F. Chang's Rock ‘n' Roll Arizona Marathon and Half Marathon. 7:15 a.m., Tempe Beach Park.

STAND YOUR GROUND RALLY
Second Amendment advocates will hold a rally for gun rights. 12 p.m., Arizona State Capitol, Phoenix.
