ILLLEGAL IMMIGRANT RE-ARRESTS
Research by the Maricopa County Sheriff’s Office shows one in three illegal immigrants booked into county jails and turned over to federal officials for deportation are subsequently re-arrested on new charges. Sheriff Joe Arpaio will discuss the findings. 3 p.m., Maricopa County Sheriff’s Office Headquarters, Phoenix.

FIESTA BOWL CEO SENTENCING
Former Fiesta Bowl CEO John Junker is scheduled to be sentenced on a state charge of solicitation to commit fraud schemes and artifices. He was sentenced last week to eight months in prison on a federal charge. 9 a.m., Maricopa County Superior Court, Phoenix.

MCSO VARGAS CHECK
The Maricopa County Sheriff’s Memorial Fund will present a check for $20,000 to the family of slain detention officer Jorge Vargas. 1 p.m., Maricopa County Sheriff’s Office Headquarters, Phoenix.

ASU IN NCAA TOURNAMENT
