PHOENIX - A new survey by MileCards.com ranked Phoenix Sky Harbor third overall on a list of best airports for on-time summer travel.
Sky Harbor's average on-time percentage over a span of 10 summers was 81.5%, following Honolulu's 87.7% and Salt Lake City's 84.9%.
The study also found that Phoenix's highest amount of timely arrivals occurs in August, with 83% of flights arriving on-time. June was ranked the worst month for summer delays, with 66% of the top 50 airports showing frequent delays.
Minneapolis and Chicago-Midway were ranked ninth and tenth most on-time, respectively, making them the most reliable airports in the Midwest.
Newark-Liberty, New York-La Guardia, New York-Kennedy, San Francisco and Boston were ranked the top 5 worst airports for on-time summer travel.
The averages were calculated based on data spanning from summer 2005 to summer 2014.
