Arizona Democrats hold food drive for Gustav victims

The Arizona Democratic Party announced on Monday a food drive for families being evacuated from the Gulf Coast because of Hurricane Gustav.

Canned goods can be dropped off at the Arizona Democratic Party Headquarters or any Democratic party office.

The party will also provide cards for donors to send their thoughts to evacuees.

"Arizonans proudly opened our doors to hundreds of evacuees from Hurricane Katrina in 2005, and we witnessed firsthand the suffering of those families," said Don Bivens, chair of the Arizona Democratic Party. "Our thoughts and prayers are again with the Gulf Coast families who must leave their homes for safety, and we hope to again help ease their burden."
