SAN CARLOS, AZ - The sports medicine team from the Eastern Arizona College football program became first responders on October 6 when they arrived at a crash scene, according to witnesses.
"They came out and rendered assistance where they could," said Eastern Arizona Courier reporter Jay David Murphy. Murphy was also at the scene.
"They knew what to do," he said. "They grabbed their kits and went right out there without hesitation."
The team was on their way to Glendale for a football game when they drove up to the crash site.
Murphy reported that there were no serious injuries, but a few people were taken to the hospital by helicopter.
