Mohave County Sheriff's Officials say remains of a Utah man reported missing in June were located in the desert and his death is under investigation as a possible homicide.

Sheriff's deputies received a call from a BLM officer about remains found in the Mount Trumbull area, in northwestern Arizona, on Thursday afternoon.

Medical examiners conducted an autopsy and through medical records, identified the remains as that of David Corey Heisler, 30, who was reported missing in late June.

Heisler was from Santa Clara, Utah.

The cause of death has not yet been determined, but officials say a joint homicide investigation is active.
