PHOENIX - While Arizona can't claim the $590.5 million Powerball winner, two $1 million second prize winning tickets were sold here in the state.
Lottery officials said in a Sunday press release that the tickets, which matched five out of five numbers drawn, not including the Powerball, were sold in Safford and Chandler.
One winning ticket was sold at a Chevron gas station at 1990 S. Alma School Road in Chandler and the other was sold at a Giant station located at 300 U.S. 70 in Safford.
The winning numbers drawn were 10, 13, 14, 22 and 52, with a Powerball of 11.
"This is exciting news for the Arizona Lottery. The winning tickets were so close to winning the record breaking $600 million jackpot, which shows that the big jackpot can be won in Arizona yet again," said Karen Bach, director of budget, products and communications for the Arizona Lottery.
