Phoenix Zoo: New Baby Komodo dragons, Chinese alligator calling zoo home

PHOENIX - Some baby animals are now calling the Phoenix Zoo home.

Two baby Komodo dragons and a Chinese alligator are now on display at the Phoenix Zoo.

Both baby Komodo dragons weigh less than one-half of a pound and were born at the Memphis Zoo in January. They arrived at the Phoenix Zoo last week. They are currently on display in the Bush House, along the Children's Trail, due to their small size.

The 17-year-old Chinese alligator is from the St. Augustine Alligator Farm in Florida. The alligator can be seen in the Land of the Dragons exhibit.

Chinese alligators are a critically-endangered species with fewer than 200 remaining in the wild.

Visit the Phoenix Zoo's website for admission information and prices.
