Multiple Arizona Michaels locations were affected by a security breach that lasted eight months, compromising customers' credit and debit information.
Michaels Stores Inc. on Thursday released a list of the stores impacted by the security breach. The list included 26 locations in Arizona, 18 of them in the Valley.
The breach occurred between May 8, 2013 and Jan. 27, 2014 and affected about 7 percent of transactions made with cards during that time.
Michaels subsidiary, Aaron Brothers, was also a victim of the data breach.
Two Arizona Aaron Brothers' locations were impacted by the breach, one in Phoenix and the other in Tucson.
"We want you to know we have identified and fully contained the incident, and we can assure you the malware no longer presents a threat to customers while shopping at Michaels or Aaron Brothers," wrote CEO Chuck Rubin in a post on the company's website.
