The ABC15 newsroom was flooded with phone calls, emails, tweets and Facebook messages Saturday night after several people reported seeing what appeared to be a "fireball falling from the sky."
Reports of a "green and red" flash of light came in from all over the Valley, from Chandler to Scottsdale to Buckeye, Ariz.
@abc15 definitely saw what looked like a fireball. Thought it was a plane at first. South of 202 near Val Vista— Alan Fuhrmark (@afuhrmark) April 13, 2014

@abc15 what the heck was it that I just saw crash into the earth?— TM Williams, Author (@imTMWilliams) April 13, 2014
ABC15 is working to confirm details, but the National Weather Service tweeted out the "explosion" was a meteor that was also seen north of El Paso.
Yes, that was a #meteor E of PHX this evening. May have looked close, but also seen north of El Paso, so not as close as you may think.— NWS Phoenix (@NWSPhoenix) April 13, 2014
