HOT WEATHER

FIREFIGHTER COOLING
Firefighters are staying cool at fire scenes with the help of a new device. The Phoenix Fire Department will provide media with a demonstration. They will also talk about the dangers of heat stress. 10 a.m., Fire Station 8, Phoenix.

COYOTES AT GLENDALE COUNCIL
The Glendale City Council will discuss the proposed management agreement with Renaissance Sports & Entertainment Group at a special meeting. The Council will not vote on the Phoenix Coyotes ownership / Jobing.com Arena management proposal at this meeting, but likely will vote at a meeting Tuesday night that has not yet been called. 1:30 p.m., Council Chambers, Glendale City Hall.

SCHOOL SWAT TRAINING
The Peoria and Glendale Police Department's SWAT teams will train for an active shooter scenario at a school. 11:15 a.m., Liberty High School, Peoria.

FOP FALLEN BENEFIT
The Fraternal Order of Police will hold an all-day fundraiser to help the families of fallen firefighter Bradley Harper and fallen police officer Daryl Raetz, serving breakfast, lunch, and dinner. 5 a.m.-9 a.m., 11 a.m.-2.p.m., 5 p.m.-9 p.m., FOP Lodge #2, 19th Avenue north of Cactus, Phoenix.
