DIAMONDBACKS FIRST WORKOUT
Arizona Diamondbacks pitchers and catchers will have their first organized workout of spring training. 9:30 a.m., Salt River Fields, Scottsdale.

MIRACLE ON ICE AT COYOTES
Members of the 1980 "Miracle on Ice" U.S. Olympic hockey team will take part in an Olympic send-off at ceremonial puck drop before Friday's Phoenix Coyotes game. Five members of the Coyotes will be participating in Olympic hockey this year for four different countries. 7 p.m., Jobing.com Arena, Glendale.

GRAND CANYON ANNOUNCEMENT
The National Park Service, Grand Canyon Association, and Arizona Public Service will announce a public-private partnership they say will help protect and preserve Grand Canyon National Park.  11 a.m., Heard Museum, Phoenix.

WEAR RED DAY
Friday is National Wear Red Day, an American Heart Association effort to raise awareness about heart disease.
