GUN SHOW
Before Saturday's opening of the Crossroads of the West Gun Show, the owner of Crossroads will hold a news conference to address the recent national gun control debate. 10:30 a.m., Arizona State Fairgrounds, Phoenix.

STATE BUDGET
The Director of the Governor's Office of Strategic Planning and Budgeting will brief media on Governor Brewer's proposed Fiscal Year 2014 budget. 12:30 p.m., Executive Tower, Arizona State Capitol, Phoenix.

DEPARTMENT OF JUSTICE V ARPAIO
A scheduling conference will be held in the federal civil rights case against the Maricopa County Sheriff's Office. 3:30pm, Sandra Day O'Connor U.S. Courthouse, Phoenix.

MLK TORCH RUN
Elementary school students will kick off the City of Phoenix Martin Luther King Jr. festivities with a "Flame of Hope" Torch Run through downtown Phoenix, ending up at the city's MLK Awards Breakfast. 6 a.m. start at Phoenix City Hall, west to the State Capitol, east to US Airways Center, then north to  7a.m. end at Sheraton Downtown Hotel, Phoenix.
