FLAGSTAFF, AZ - Arizona Department of Public Safety Officials placed 164 drivers and 160 commercials vehicles out of service in northern Arizona due to logbook, licensing and equipment violations.
DPS said 78 commercial motor vehicle enforcement officers made 1,249 traffic stops between June 3-5 along Interstate 40 in Flagstaff. The enforcement was part of a national safety program called "Operation Roadcheck," according to a press release.
Authorities said 164 drivers and 160 vehicles were pulled out of service due to logbook, licensing and equipment violations.
DPS said many drivers also "well-exceeded" federal standards regarding hours behind the wheel.
