Authorities say a Mohave Community College board member with a record of drug offenses has been arrested during an investigation into alleged methamphetamine manufacturing at the man's home.

The Mohave Area General Narcotics Enforcement Team arrested 57-year-old Jon Guy Longoria on suspicion of possession of drugs and drug paraphernalia during searches Monday of his Kingman home and a vehicle at another location.

Longoria works as substance abuse counselor. He was elected as a member of the Mohave Community College governing board in 2014.

Longoria did not respond immediately to telephoned and emailed requests for comment.

Longoria in 2012 had his civil rights restored following drug trafficking-related convictions in the late 1990s.

College spokesman James Jarman says the arrest was a surprise and was not related to the college.
