Law enforcement in Arizona and Mexico are planning to join efforts in stopping cross-border crimes.

Arizona Attorney General Mark Brnovich announced Wednesday that he has signed a letter of intent with the Office of the Attorney General of Mexico to form a partnership.

Their offices have agreed to exchange information and provide training for investigating and prosecuting crimes.

Their focus will be on drugs and firearms, money laundering, human smuggling and child pornography.

Brnovich said in a statement that collaboration with Mexico is "critical" to investigations into crimes such as sex and drug trafficking.
