Arizona timelapse video shows off beauty of our state (VIDEO)

A timelapse video showcasing the beauty of our state is quickly going viral.

While Gavin Heffernan was serving as an "artist in residence" at Northern Arizona University in April, he embarked on several "shooting adventures" at Grand Canyon National Park and Monument Valley Navajo Park.

Not only was Gavin able to score incredible still shots of the area, he was also able to compile a stunning timelapse detailing the day-to-night transition, complete with breathtaking Milky Way views. The video is aptly titled "YIKÁÍSDÁHÁ ," which is Navajo for Milky Way.

Gavin tells ABC15 he collaborated with his former American Film Institute classmate, and current NAU professor, Harun Mehmedinović to complete the project.
