PHOENIX - McDonald's is giving back to Valley teachers this Tuesday by offering them a free meal and donating a portion of their sales to education foundations.
Teachers who show their school identification or pay stub at an Arizona McDonald's from 5 a.m. to 8 p.m. Tuesday will get an Extra Value Meal free of charge.
In addition, McDonald's will donate a portion of its McCafe sales that day to the non-profit education organizations Expect More Arizona and Tucson Values Teachers.
Teachers spend an average of $500 of their own money each year on basic classroom supplies, according to a spokesperson for Tucson Values Teachers.
There are 280 McDonald's restaurants in the state.
