Arizona McDonald's restaurants host FREE backpack giveaway

PHOENIX - This weekend, McDonald’s is helping Arizona children get ready for school.

McDonald’s restaurants throughout greater Phoenix, Yuma and northern Arizona are hosting “Backpack Saturday” on July 26 when they will give away 25,000 backpacks to help thousands of families as they head back to school.

Starting at 8 a.m. McDonald’s restaurants will begin handing out free backpacks to the first 100 children accompanied by a parent when they stop by their local McDonald's.

Children will also receive a free Go-GURT Low-Fat Strawberry Yogurt to celebrate the new Happy Meal choice.

The backpacks will be given away at McDonald’s restaurants in Maricopa, LaPaz, Mohave, Yavapai, Coconino, Gila, Navajo, Apache, Graham, Pinal and Yuma counties.

The free backpack offer excludes Walmart and shopping mall McDonald’s restaurants.
